Charles County Surgical Arts, is a very welcoming place. Each person that I encountered from the front desk, throughout the well designed facility was thoughtful, kind and professional. Dr. John McElveen is consciderate, friendly, and accessible. Dr. McElveen not only took time out of his busy schedule to listen, and to understand my plight, he also explained and answered questions concerning the procedure which is a rare combination. 5 Stars.

Follow up Extraction REVIEW: Charles County Surgical Arts: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A+ Service — I’ll Never Go Anywhere Else I want to give a heartfelt thank you to the incredible team at Charles County Surgical Arts — you’ve officially changed how I view dental procedures. I came here with a deep fear of dental work due to a traumatic extraction years ago. My primary dentist, who knows how serious my phobia is, referred me straight to Dr. McElveen and his team — and I’m so glad they did. From start to finish, this place has been nothing short of elite-level care. My consultation was smooth, thoughtful, and respectful. Dr. McElveen walked me through the best sedation option for my needs, and every step afterward was handled with professionalism and kindness. Special shoutouts: • Nurse Nicole made me feel cared for from beginning to end. • Trinity at the front desk was warm, welcoming, and kept everything moving smoothly. • And Ayanna and every other young lady who helped behind the scenes — I noticed your professionalism and calm presence. Thank you. The day of my procedure? Flawless. I arrived on time, was taken back quickly, and before I knew it — it was over. My husband was able to pull up to the side entrance (which looked like it used to be a drive-thru bank) and they wheeled me out straight to the car. Talk about first-class service. That kind of care doesn’t usually happen at a dentist’s office, but here it felt like I was being treated like family… or a VIP. While my husband waited, there was coffee and water available in the lobby — a small touch that makes a big difference. He even commented on how comfortable the space was. Now for two helpful suggestions — not complaints, just tips to improve an already excellent experience: 1. Blankets: The office was chilly (as most medical centers are), but there were no blankets available that morning. I was in short sleeves and could’ve used one while waiting. I understand they were being laundered, but I recommend keeping a few ready earlier in the day, especially for anxious patients like me. 2. Acrylic Nails Tip: If you’re getting sedation, ladies — consider clipping your pointer finger acrylic nail or leaving one off. The oxygen monitor has to clamp on that finger, and I didn’t realize that until afterward. It’ll save discomfort and make things easier for the team. Even with that, they were so attentive. My blood pressure was elevated due to nerves, and they monitored it carefully. Dr. McElveen made sure I was fully stabilized before even starting. That level of care shows integrity. And the follow-up? Exceptional. • I got a text the same evening. • I received TWO phone calls the next morning to check on me. That kind of check-in is rare — and incredibly appreciated. If I ever need another tooth extraction, implant, or sedation-based dental procedure, I will only trust Charles County Surgical Arts. Thank you all for treating me with care, dignity, and excellence. This is how patient-centered healthcare should be done. With deep appreciation, Cheryl J. Mills

Great front desk reception. Care coordinator explanation of treatment plan & expenses. Very helpful staff. Doctor was awesome in questioning, answering and detailing what he was about to do. During the procedure he & Assistant made sure I was comfortable always, even was given a blanket upon request! Great follow up procedure as well! Meds were prescribed at my favorite pharmacy. Booked for follow - up appointment too! Happy patient!

This was my first ever Oral Surgery. Terrified is a nicer word for how I felt but the staff did their best at helping me adjust. I was sedated for my coronectomy ( both bottom wisdoms) and that was another experience and story 😅😫. Back to my review... the surgical team was awesome before my procedure and even though I don't remember faces after being sedated, I remember voices. The surgeon himself was awesome as well and I appreciate him taking care of me to the best of his ability during my procedure. My recovery wasn't difficult, the only challenge was the food restrictions especially when your husband indulges in all your favorite foods while you're on a liquid and soft chew regimen. My bleeding stopped the next day. Brushing wasn't bad after downsizing my toothbrush. I didn't even use the prescribed pain meds, I just used over the counter motrin dual action tylenol. I'm 6 days postop and I'm pretty much back to my usual activities. I work in the medical field as a coder so being able to focus and talk is a big deal. I was back to work that following Monday, my surgery was on a Friday. All and all, I'd highly recommend this location for any major dental work. Thank you all.

The staff here are so polite and accommodating. My daughter had an extraction today and she came out with a smile. Her review is below this. I’d recommend Charles County Surgical Arts to everyone needing extractions and implants. I was scared for the needle and yeah it did hurt a bit but when I was numb it was all okay. I was in and out.

I was referred by my dentist. Officer staff is very friendly, Officer area is clean and spacious. I had a really good consultation with the specialist who provided the best treatment plan possible for my unique situation. He took his time to explain thoroughly and answered any questions that I may have. I felt very comfortable with my treatment plan and look forward to renewing my smile.
