Educational Background
Born and raised in New Orleans, Dr. McElveen earned a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Xavier University of Louisiana before going on to Howard University to study dentistry. He then earned a medical doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in 2014, followed by a four-year residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery at Truman Medical Center Hospital Hill in Kansas City.

Since completing his residency in early 2019, Dr. McElveen has focused on delivering the highest standard of oral and maxillofacial surgical care. His training allows him to manage complex surgical cases with precision and compassion, keeping patient comfort and outcomes as the priority.

As an academic, Dr. McElveen specializes in the surgical management of patients with moderate to severe sleep apnea, as well as head and neck trauma, pathology and reconstruction. He holds certificates in Preliminary General Surgery, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, and Facial Reconstruction.
