Dental Implant Placement in White Plains, MD

Many people don’t know that missing teeth lead to loss of bone mass in their jaw. How does that happen? Well, the roots of your teeth go deep into your gums and into your jawbone. When you chew, the pressure on your teeth gets absorbed down into your gums and jawbone, which stimulates the bone mass. This stimulation is important for a strong and healthy jawbone! But when the tooth is missing, your jawbone doesn't get that stimulation anymore, and it can actually weaken and degrade.

That's why dental implants are such an incredible solution for missing teeth. Not only do they provide strong support for restorative dental work like crowns, but they also help maintain a healthy jawbone. The material used for dental implants is perfect for a bone to grow around, which ensures the implants are a secure foundation for restorative dental work. With dental implants you can continue to live your life how you want, and be free from the worries that are caused by missing teeth.

At Charles County Surgical Arts, our surgeon Dr. John McElveen handles our implant placement procedures. We provide the following implant options:

If you have one or a few missing teeth, Dr. McElveen can place individual dental implants as the foundation for your restorative dental work. He will work closely with your general dentist to ensure you receive the exact treatment you need to get the final results that you want.

If you are missing most or all of your natural teeth, you should consider All-on-4 implant surgery. In this procedure, Dr. McElveen will place as few as four dental implants at strategic points in your upper or lower jaw. Once you are completely healed, your general dentist will attach a full arch bridge to the implants (think of it like dentures, but permanent). And Dr. McElveen will work with your general dentist to ensure your dental needs are fully taken care of.
