Dr. John McElveen, DDS, MD, PharmD, is a board-certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon. Over his education and career, Dr. McElveen realized that there is often a disconnect between primary care providers and specialists when it comes to taking care of a patients’ needs. He also realized that the person who suffers the most from this lack of communication is the patient. 


It is Dr. McElveen's personal mission as a doctor to bring positive change to all patients under his care. To that end, he is dedicated to working collaboratively with you to develop treatment strategies for your shared patients. He has found that this approach leads to better outcomes on surgical procedures, better results in reconstruction and cosmetic dentistry, and most importantly, higher patient satisfaction. 


As part of his promise to work with you on your patient's treatment, Dr. McElveen will keep you informed about your patient's treatment at Charles County Surgical Arts, including letting you know when the treatment is completed. And for dental implant patients, Dr. McElveen is willing to share our digital impressions so you can complete the patient's dental restoration faster.

He also works as a surgery consultant for ClearChoice Dental Implant Center in Rockville, MD. There, he routinely performs All-on-4 full mouth implant reconstruction procedures, including cases that require the placement of pterygoid, trans-sinus, and zygomatic implants.
