With a traditional dental implant, an oral surgeon like Dr. McElveen will place a small metal post deep into your gums to take the place of your tooth's root. Once it is healed, your general dentist will attach a crown to the implant, which looks and operates like a natural tooth. This works great if you are missing one or two teeth; but if you're missing most or all of your teeth, it would be impractical to replace every single one with its own implant.

With All-on-4 dental implants, Dr. McElveen will place as few as four implants in strategic spots in your upper or lower jaw. Once these have healed, your general dentist will attach a full arch bridge to the implants. Think of it like a denture, but it is permanently attached to the implants. This method will securely replace all of the missing teeth in your upper or lower arch and restore your smile!
